Given that colon cancer takes ten years to develop from precancerous polyps, a precautionary colonoscopy every few years is simply common sense.

My first is scheduled for next month. When I recently spoke with my cardiologist - who is younger and looks fitter than me - he told me that he has had six. "It's no big deal," he said. And I expect that he's right.
