BREAKING: Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey charged with obstruction of justice in bribery case
Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., was hit with charges alleging that he and his wife conspired to obstruct justice in the bribery case against them.
The superseding indictment, which brings the number of federal charges against Menendez to 18, said the senator had his attorney tell investigators that payments he received from businessmen allegedly involved in the scheme were loans when he was well aware that they “were not loans, but bribe payments.”
