The standards aren't the same where doctors prescribe drugs. Parents are involved in other such medical decisions for their minor children.

And as you know, minors are treated as especially vulnerable in US law from a sexual viewpoint.

Are sellers required to ask 16-18yo males for proof of parental consent when they buy condoms?
