well sir wizard,
ya gotta admit its prolly a lot kinder than "Old Fart".
Or perhaps "fossilized" ?
I don't look a day over 100. Well, not 'zactly true but I definitely have lost some energy I had before all the health problems started last year.. I think that is the key to feeling younger than one actually is.
I've been being eaten from the inside by arthritis for a long time but I was used to that. It was only after the combination of the Heart failure plus the Hepatitis E strain I got right after that I have been feeling older than my age. So one's state of health has something to do with that..
I still am active and do lots of things, but am not afraid to ask my grandson the middle linebacker to come over and do some things for me and my wife I can struggle and do but much easier to allow HIM to do them and then I can use that as an excuse to give him some legitimate money for helping us. Heck, he needs money too to help pay off his tuition money he has borrowed.
Part of my estate will be designated to paying off my grandchildren's debt from college. They should begin their adult lives out of debt so they have a decent chance of living well.
My other daughter in Virginia's children will likely never know what debt is because she and her husband make an enormous amount of income..
At the rate she and my son in law are putting away excess money it won't take t hem long to overtake me. BUT I am glad for them.. They don't have financial struggles and are a little sheltered in that regard.
BUTTTTTT, she still needs her Father.. THAt is the part I love about raising daughters..
My goals are simple. Try to make sure Miz micro never wants for anything and after that, leave enough for the debts from school for that grandchildren to pay it off.
Its amazing what we think about when we get to these times in life.. I will enjoy each day from now on with a better outlook and focus on the here and now...
