The short version, Boss, is to 'increase ones taxable real estate'.

Another example - Ukraine grows a LOT of grain. Fold all of Ukraine back into the old USSR and all that money being made goes into Russian coffers.

When Crimea was part of Ukraine, Russia was paying Ukraine to use a naval base in Crimea . . . When they stole Crimea they no longer had to pay for the use of that base. (Not to mention all the ship building and repair facilities along that stretch of coastline.)

Also, the Russian 'Baikonur Cosmodrome' is in a country named Kazakhstan. (Once part of the USSR.) If Russia can 're-annex' Kazakhstan they can stop making 'rental payments' to use the space launch facility.

So,
in my mind I am wondering for what purpose ? I guess I just don't understand commies enough other than they always want someone else's real estate, witness North Vietnam wanting to incorporate South Vietnam.

I guess I am somewhat naive but I fail to understand what benefit is it and what does it accomplish to be on a land grab mission ?

They already had a naval base on the Black Sea so the idea of needing access to the Black Sea was a bunch of BS.

They already had it.

Now I Know why I am not and have never been a politician nor desired to be the head of a nation.
I got enough things of my own to deal with and not interested in everyone else's problems, prosperity, poverty, wants and desires.

I am a candidate to be a hermit! lol!!!!
