My brother in Law and HIS parents and sister escaped Czechoslovakia back in 1967 when it was a Russian held Iron Curtain country. Their dad smuggled them to the River where they swam across after midnight and fled thru Austria and Switzerland to come to the United States and wound up near me. Tom could not speak English when he started High School with me in the Premier High School in southwest Ohio. But he adapted quickly and like you guys, he went on to become a great software writing genius specializing in developing software systems for government accounting far more detailed than could be had at that time.
So he is a success story of a family fleeing communism and taking advantage of opportunity in America and becoming a productive citizen. He is a smart guy.
He has developed a new phone system for faster response to 911 calls for cities. SO he sells and installs these all over the country.. IBM call him when they are stumped.. That's pretty impressive.
I wish I was that good... We're just two old goats, not petrified yet like Ribit though.
But you would be better off living elsewhere than here iffen ya ain't anywhere near old age and the end of your lifespan.
There is a reason that the United States is NOT mentioned in the Bible and yet Russia and China both are...
That's a fact. So something is going to happen at some time..
Anyway, its so good to have you around again! ALmost like old times. Glad you came!
