I have nothing but deep respect for you and micro for having served OUR country in Nam, and for all those that served. You two had one of the most dangerous 'jobs' over there, serving on the ground.
The closest I ever came was when the family traveled back to the US on emergency leave. We flew on a C-141 Medivac out of Tachikawa, Japan. There were seriously injured soldiers on stretchers in the back of the plane. I stopped by one of the soldiers. Don't know exactly what my intention was, whether to talk to him, or whether it was something else. My dad quickly corrected me, and told me to leave him alone - out of respect for the man. That is something I will never forget. It was a long, and quiet, flight to Anchorage, where we continued on.
