Re: “Hope that plan is still okay.”We're looking forward to it! But first we need to get the house done. Right now we've got the downstairs reserved as a workshop for my builder - which means that all the downstairs furniture and boxes are upstairs in our living space. In other words, it's still too cramped for visitors.

We just got the downstairs woodstove hooked up so the house will have heat even when it loses power. A second, smaller stove is in the garage, ready to be brought upstairs. Then there's additional basement plumbing to do (we need the outside watering system to be hooked up as well as shutoff valves so that water won't flood a barn that's not ready for it. Finally, the basement flooring needs to be put in.

My builder still has external stairs to build and a front porch to enclose. Then he's about done. I'm mothballing some of the other projects, though he doesn't know that yet. The work has gone on for too long and I want it finished.

One bucket list item is to get up to see you and miz De and that wonderful homestead you guys have worked so hard at.

I hope that I can make that happen. The only way I think it can is if I bring a co-driver like my nephew or older brother to help me with the driving.

But I sure would like to see that view of yours on those tree lined hills and the mountains..

Please tell Miz De NOT to shoot at me.. I am coming un-armed... Well, I'll leave the defense in the car out of sight anyway..
