She served. as a reservist, which is to be respected. However. that she made it to Lt.Col astounds me - and speaks more to certain problems in the military.
Naive, yes. Ignorant and non-understanding, yes.
Biggest problem though is lack of looking beyond her own cultural background. The 'mental state of mind' of most Westerners does not understand the mindset of the Mid-East, the Far-East, South Africa, South or Central America or any other than those that are 'like themselves'. That is Tulsi's main problem.
A couple or more decades ago, Read a bio/history written by one of the US POW's in Nam. It had 'Midnight' in the title, but I haven't been able to identify that book for a long time. The man delved into these 'differences in basic mindset' quite thoroughly, especially into the Middle Eastern and Far Eastern thought processes. Quite different. It was an eye opener for me, and really wish could remember the author's name and his book's title. I would like to read it again.
There really are people that think MUCH differently than we (both left and right) in Western Civi (or Polynesian/Hawaiin Civilization think.
Also found Tulsi's take on 'base pay' for Halliburton contractors interesting - being 'offended' at the $500 dollars a month (for some). Did she ask ANY of those folks how much they could make in their HOME countries or WHY they would accept so 'little' *her opinion* pay ? My guess would be that she did not - just chose to 'get offended'.
