1936 and 1870. Which of those two eclipses did you just brag about seeing??

May 20, 1966 is not "the late 60s." But I can excuse that as simple incompetence, not actual dishonesty.

The eclipse you now say you saw was an annular eclipse. Annular eclipses do not block out the sun - the moon is too far away and therefore too small. There was no totality in the eclipse you saw and you therefore didn't see anything close to darkness. Even a sliver of the sun is enough to light up the Earth. You were lying. And you've been caught.

Here's a picture of an annular eclipse. Do you still want to claim you were in total darkness?
