Re: “I replaced the generator, A/C compressor! water pump - almost everything else under the hood.”
That mirrors my experience. I've got a 2007 Chevy Silverado that I hardly drive. It's got just 65,000 miles.

Over the years, I've lost both back window controls (separately -- not one problem but two), three of the four tire pressure sensors, my transmission, my cruise control, my speaker wiring, my power steering and numerous knobs made of cheap plastic. The passenger seatbelt also sticks something fierce.

I'm sure there is quite a bit more; I just can't remember it all.

I'm happy to have bought the truck used (with 6,000 miles) but I'll never get another Chevrolet.

You could not give me a Ford vehicle.. Or a Generous motors vehicle..

Starting with my 2005 Mitsubishi and 2004 Kia Optima, I have enjoyed decades of trouble free mechanical breakdowns and annoying maintenance costs..

I bought a 1995 Chevy Blazer new off the lot. I knew I was in trouble when Chevy replaced the engine at 20,000 miles! Over the next 50,000 miles I replaced the generator, A/C compressor! water pump - almost everything else under the hood. I was never so glad to be rid of a vehicle as when I traded it in on a Toyota Camry. Since then I have had a VW Passat, but mostly Japanese vehicles. Much fewer repairs. Never again an American car.
