Rice Pilaf

I found a video about rice on Youtube and tried its rice pilaf tonight. It was a disaster, and I don't think I did anything wrong. I followed the instructions to the letter.

The two chief problems were that the rice didn't absorb all the chicken stock... so I cooked it more and waited another ten minutes. Even that didn't do it and I had to boil off the excess, which made the included pasta soggy. And for a dish intended for two, this recipe called for two teaspoons of salt. Just think about how much sodium that is! I couldn't even finish my plate. Waaaaay too salty.
