Re: “I HATE ground ivy.”
I hate ivy too, but if you want a worthy alternative, try ground blackberries. The vines are everywhere in my field - not producing any fruit but making up for it with thorns. I wear shorts when I'm in the yard (so I'll notice any ticks) but I often return with 15 or twenty bloody scratches and sometimes a few splinters in my fingers, impossible to even see. Mowing is the answer... but I'm not sure where the lawnmower is. It's probably boxed up beneath one of the barn's piles of 'stuff.'

They're still alive and slightly bigger. We have about 10 plants that are majority Roma and a couple of Big Boys.

I just discovered a few days ago that if ya spray the lawn with weed and grass killer and ya thinks ya is only spraying some ground ivy, the entire patch ya sprayed turns dead. Brown dead. While I like the Ivy being killed I did not want the grass to be killed.

Grrrrrrrrr. Now I have to re-seed and get a different weed killer. I HATE ground ivy.. And if ya don't get rid of it ta will have an entire yard full. This stuff crept over here from the untaken care of yard next door.
