Most Americans ARE traveling. Just not by car.
I am walking from the inside of my home to the outdoors so I am traveling to my large Patio so I can turn on the Grill and make a Memorial Day grilled dinner for the family..
That's about all the traveling I will do.. My eldest Daughter and family will be leaving here enroute to the airport via UBER to catch a flight out to San Diego and for the next 16 days. They'll also be staying in LasVegas for several days and I did suggest they drive up to see Yosemite National Park. And the Hoover Dam and that Big hole in the ground outside of Vegas..
I would like to give each of my two grandkids who are in college a Hundred dollars to take with them for fun money.. They're in college and up to their ears in debt so I feel they don't have any extra money.
And it will be awhile before either of them are able to take a vacation like this again.
I am very happy with both of them. They have become responsible young adults and know what they want to do with their lives.. My granddaughter wants to become a Physicians Assistant and is taking appropriate course syudoes to accomplish that..
When she was younger nobody thought she would do well in college due to her attention span.. She takes meds to keep her focused.
She is the Top Rated Catcher in Women's Softball in Ohio and had over 22 throw outs from attempted steals this past season. She has a cannon for an arm.. And she is maintaining her GPA while being on the road for away games as well. I am really impressed by this and would not have thought it possible.. She works hard for her grades.
Tyler on the other hand is in the national whos'e who among student athletes for his perfect GPA at a tough private academic college. He was only one of three students who were selected and qualified to be in this national Honors Society. He has a perfect GPA.
He kept that up even though he played football the first two years and had time taken up with workouts early in mornings and field practices every afternoon and games on Saturdays. He is very quiet and softspoken and would do anything for us that we ask him..
Miz micro pretty much raised him thru elementary school and his sister so he is very close to Grandma.
I am blessed indeed to have such kind and considerate gandkids who are willing to help us with things I am no longer physically able to do, including lifting more than 25 pounds. That is a medical restriction I have from the Heart Doctors. It can be a PITA at times but I can't fight city hall (Miz micro)...
sorry to reminisce a little . I just love my grandkids to death because they are so kind to us and look out for us with yardwork and landscaping and ANYTHING that we need moved.. They always come to help..
It don't get much better....
