Yep ... I found this listing of "overall tax burden by state" (property, income, and sales/excise taxes) ...

... and the traditional New England states (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI & CT) are shown, as follows:

Maine 10.74%
New Hampshire 5.63%
Vermont 11.12%
Massachusetts 8.55%
Rhode Island 9.38%
Connecticut 10.08%.

These are averages of the effective rates across the spectrum of all residents in a particular state, so this does not report the maximum effective income tax rates for those in the upper echelons.
