Hi ZIM
The basic definitions of those two words is as follows.
Eternal means having no beginning or ending.
The account in Genesis clearly expresses the creation of The Universe called "Heavens" AND the planet we call EARTH which needed to be precisely the distance it is from a SUN to neither be too HOT or COLD so that life could be sustained here, by sating that GOD SPOKE and literally created the solar systems and stars and planets.
He NAMED ALL the stars. Even those we cannot see.
The PALM of HIS HAND reaches from one end of the Universe to the other end.. HE has made HIMSELF KNOWN to US through the Prophets and we have plenty of evidence to see the work of HIS hands on the earth to know that ony GOD could have made this world as it is.
The Second person of the Trinity, CHRIST, said that even the very ROCKS would cry out in praise to HIM.. ALL of nature.
More interesting to me is the composition of mankind.
WE are the only creation made after the LIKENESS of GOD.
WE were given a PART of HIMSELF inside when HE BREATHED INTO ADAM and and Adam became "quickened" which means made alive, and became a LIVING SOUL.
THIS is how we all are. The SPIRIT of us which is who we really are, and IT is everlasting, will be alive forever even when the physical body wears out. The Spirit leaves the BODY and is escorted to HEAVEN for Believers. Your Angels assigned to you will take you there.
Eternal means having no beginning nor end.
Everlasting means having a beginning but has no end.
God is eternal.
Man is everlasting..
Hope this sheds a little light on what the Scriptures say...
