Plan to spend the summer back home, visit family, friends, friends in islands, and do some traveling by car in the mainland, in beautiful, lush places by the sea and high up in the mountains and forests. I do have a project or two for the apartment in Athens, one switching out an older ductless air unity, and anything else that pops up and hit the road.
But, one of the things I will spend time on is eating traditionally, not the gourmet stuff that is very in, and it is extremely good, but the old stuff I grew up with and you have people now redo what they learned from their aunts, mothers, and grandmothers with a refreshed spirit to keep that good stuff alive and renewed. After all, it has been that stuff that made greek food and the diet famous around the world and not just souvlaki and gyro..
So, I have been keeping a record and list of places in Athens to explore and relax with my fellow Athenians as I inadvertently will have to avert gaining 300lbs in just months….
