No Foul Called After Caitlin Clark Crushed By Anvil

by Babylon Bee

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Referees in last Saturday's WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse ruled that there was in fact no foul after Sky guard Chennedy Carter dropped an anvil on Caitlin Clark, who is popularly considered one of the greatest women's collegiate players of all time.

According to fans present at the game, Carter deliberately raised an anvil with a rope and pulley before dropping it on an unsuspecting Clark. Due to an unfortunate coincidence, however, the referees all seemed to be looking away at the time.

"Anvil? What anvil?" head referee Dillon Johnson reportedly asked, adjusting his half-inch-thick glasses as he reviewed footage of Carter dropping a massive steel anvil directly on Caitlin Clark's head, leaving a splintered, smoking crater in the gym floor. "Nope - no foul there. Keep playing, ladies!"

Carter's action was met with celebratory cheers from her teammate Angel Reese who, shockingly, is an old rival of Caitlin Clark. Sources report that the two were seen trading friendship bracelets afterward while whispering about how much they both dislike Clark.

At publishing time, the league had upgraded the interaction to a "foul" on further review and warned Carter to keep all anvils, sticks of dynamite, and baseball bats out of the gym in future games.
