Now I'm not going to go so far as to say 'The human heart and skeletal structure cannot handle the strain'. There are gorillas, right? So a few genetic tweaks to strengthen the skeletal structure and a bigger heart more designed to pump blood better . . .

But, the 'Cubit' is NOT 18 inches. A cubit is "An ancient unit of linear measure, originally equal to the length of the forearm from the tip of the middle finger to the elbow".

So if most people back in David and Goliaths time were around four feet tall, how tall would Goliath have been?

While I describe it as a book of well intentioned parables not to be taken literally, Einstein's opinion is just as valid. It's childish to think that there were ever ten foot giant humans roaming the Earth. The human heart and skeletal structure cannot handle the strain.

Additionally, if there were giants, where are they today? Did they mate with dwarfs and we are their progeny? Where are their bones? Paleontologists and archaeologists dig up ancient human bones all the time. There are no giants. In fact, the human predecessors are always SMALLER than modern man. Gorillas are larger... but, of course, we didn't descend from gorillas. Where are their giant homes? Outside of television, where is 'the Land of the Giants'?
