First time I almost ran into Willie, was at his first outdoor BIG shinding between College Station and Nacagdoches. Car poolin' in mu old 65 Plymouth Fury with three others working at Schult Mobil Home factory during summer recess. We were on our way home after a long long hot day of hard ass work, pass a HP doing the speed limit with him goin the otter way. We were right outside the concert, doing 70 and the HP was doin 70 the otter way. Well cop turned right around, hit his lights, caught up to us fast. Pulled over, got out, and cop was about 50 feet back, took one look at us, saw us in our work clothes, obviously showed we had just finished a hard shift. He stopped, said 'I thought your inspection was expired (he was still way behind the car) turned, went back to his prowler and left.
Yeah, right ... lmao now ... closing speed of 140 mph and he 'thought' my inspection was 'expired'. Yeah, right.
Didn't git to go the concert, but sure wish I had.
Like ole Willie's music a lot. Good stuff.
