Brief conversations with Justice Alito at two different dinners at the Supreme Court Historical Society were recorded by some woman named Lauren Windsor. The intent of her line of questioning was clear ... she was trying to get Alito to say something incriminating ... she monopolized the conversations and desperately tried to lead him ... but, she failed, spectacularly. But, that didn't prevent her from manufacturing a false spin. For example, Windsor opined that Alito had a "lack of impartiality with the Left" because he said in response to her question about "polarization" that eventually "one side or the other will win." Uh, dearie ... THAT is a perfectly rational, noncommittal response that most Americans would make to your leading question. It says absolutely nothing about how he would apply the law as a judge.
Here are the conversations:
Windsor: "I don’t know that we can negotiate with the Left in the way that needs to happen for the polarization to end. I think that it’s a matter of winning."
Alito: "I think that’s right. One side or the other, one side or the other is going to win. I don’t know. I mean, there can be a way of working, a way of living together peacefully. But it’s difficult, you know, because there are differences on fundamental things that really can’t be compromised. They really can’t be compromised. So it’s not like you’re going to split the difference."
She's the one who tried to put a partisan spin on it, but Alito spoke in even-handed generalities. So, she lied ... he didn't reveal any lack of impartiality - especially where it would concern his belief that all are equal under the law.
Windsor: It’s just. I think the solution is like winning the moral argument. Like people in this country who believe in God have got to keep fighting for that, to return this country to a place of godliness.
Alito: I agree with you. I agree with you.
Oh my, oh my! GASP! Alito would like to see our country become a more moral place. STOP THE PRESSES!!!
BWHA HA HA HA HA HA!!! This woman is a pathetic joke.
Windsor: [H]ow do we get America back to a place of like, really, like, less polarization? Cause I feel like the court is undergoing this period of turmoil, like people don’t trust in I think, just the like, this is the last bastion, I think, of public trust, and how to we get back to that?
Alito: I wish I knew. I don’t know. It’s easy to blame the media but I do blame them because they do nothing but criticize us.
Again, Alito says absolutely nothing to show he is not impartial in interpreting and applying the law. As any normal American citizen, he is concerned about the polarization in our society and he knows the media is doing nothing but trying to make it worse - just like Lauren Windsor. And speaking of which, here is the ridiculous, hyperventilating headline from the disgraced Rolling Stone ... "Justice Alito Caught on Tape Discussing How Battle for America ‘Can’t Be Compromised’ - In a new, secret recording, the Supreme Court justice says he 'agrees' that the U.S. should return to a place of godliness." ROTFLMAO! Alito NEVER framed anything as a "Battle for America" - he never said those words. And, oh my goodness, he agreed that the "U.S. should return to a place of godliness"? How absolutely rational, sensible, and appropriate can anyone be, eh? Most everyone wants to live in a society that values and places a high priority on good morals - this is a moral argument, not a legal argument.
This whole thing is a childish nothingburger. Libtards are such whiny lil' babies trying to make something out of nothing. They live to bitch and complain.
