Basically, our constitutional republic is based on electoral democracy, a federal presidential republic(you can do your own research on the meanings), but the problem is Americans at large have no clue about any of this or the terms and just mouth off talking points depending on where they come from politically.
CNN asked some MAGA people about that stuff, and when he pressed a woman to explain what she meant by “democracy” when she said “we don’t have a democracy” she veered off saying “I have to look it up”.
It is a lame discussion. It is better to spend time talking about oligarchs and authoritarianism than this stuff about which people have no clue really. You can “get” those pretty quick, and there are many varying degree examples, Putin, Orban, Xi, the asshole from N Korea, etc.
Our problem is our system whatever the fk you wanna call it allows for the few to rule the many, via the electoral college, in order to protect them few from the rule of the ….many. That is ABSURD, despite the fact that it sounds like a reasonable desire to protect the few. But what about protecting the MANY from the “FEW”?? What about it?
Now, if this sounds reasonable to some, the few really, and they don’t give a second thought to OLIGARCHY, because it seems to serve their authoritarian needs, then here I do need to TELL what it is:
Oligarchy (from Ancient Greek ὀλιγαρχία (oligarkhía) 'rule by few'; from ὀλίγος (olígos) 'few', and ἄρχω (árkhō) 'to rule, command')[1][2][3] is a conceptual form of power structure in which power rests with a small number of people. Wikipedia.
And in a nutshell, our glorious system, whatever you want to call it, establishes the ability of the few to rule the many, which basically has created the shithole situation we live in now.
And, finally, if we don’t solve this, WEBEFKED. OK?
How do we solve it. Not with arms preferably, but we may have to pass it through our system like a bad diarrhea. How long it takes? A while. Could it get to “fisticuffs”? Unlikely, but it will get uglier.
At some point, the few will have to deal with the fsct that they are a MINORITY and there is enough “states rights” for them to get a better deal where they live, but they have to swallow that they are a minority, and to take care of themselves and let others live THEIR OWN LIVES AS THEY WISH.
Amd keep ALL religions OUT OF AMERICA’s POLITICS. Religions have fked the world through the millennia. They have been the scourge of mankind as practiced by fanatical assholes, the dead and religious crimes and genocides in the name of this god or that one over the centuries cannot even be counted. And they’re all guilty of it all.
Half educated and ignorant America has brought us to this precipice.
Lose the labels. Enjoy freedom, even if you don’t like your neighbors’ “freedoms”, because yours could be next.
P.S. The recent chant “Death to America” on American soil pisses the hell out of me, but our Constitution establishes it as exercising the right of Freedom of Speech. It is garbage but they can say it on an American sidewalk. That is the difference between us and …Putin’s Shithole. Otoh, some of us could perceive it as a threat and take “appropriate action.”
