My daughter and her family are up north toward the Dayton area but just a little South and east.
They are spending time with my son in law's mom and dad.
They are really super nice people and a couple of years older than us. They'll return back at the southern outpost around sixish this evening for dinner and visting before they head to the Hotel just about 1 mile away..
I'll be driving them to the airport early tomorrow morning.
Wish they would just move back here so we could watch the grandsons grow up and be part of their lives.
Yesterday we all spent the day at the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History who has an exhibit in that is all about the tragedy at Pompei complete with relics of Pompei and real photos of it now.
It was buried under 14 feet of ASH and of course before all the ash settle it was sprayed with lava fire being spewed from the eruptions..
It was a catastrophe for those people who lived in Vesuvias' shadow.
My takeaways was that if ya don;t want to be a solidified statue for the rest of the world to see, don't live close to a volcano..
ANYONE living anywhere around Mt. St. Helen's needs to have psychiatric evaluation for a death wish..
There is lots of actual art work that was preserved from this event and taken from homes of the people that lived there. It is amazing what the first century people actually had and used as tools.. A lot of the hand tools we use today were used in their day.. A Plumb Bob line for example. Or a SPADE.
Very interesting exhibit that allowed us to see and imagine life in Pompei in the first century..
A lot of Roman cultural influence with the bath Houses and avenues. A great exhibit to see.
The kids should be back around SIX p.m. tonight for a family dinner and visit before I drive them to their hotel for the night before picking them up early tomorrow morning to go the Airport 25 miles away in northern Kentucky.
It is really wonderful to see my baby daughter and how well she has kept herself in shape by exercise and running.
Both of my daughters are very smart and both are blonde haired and attractive ladies.
I wonder what happened to me???? lol!!!!1 Are they really MY kids?
Don't answer that..... I am just elated to spend time with my grandsons and my daughters..
