The battery is called a 12V battery, but when measured it is higher. 13.8V is considered a better value. Almost all CB and amateur radios are designed for use with a 13.8V power supply. You could verify by checking the specifications on the equipment, but this is the right power supply for your needs.

I've got a power supply that draws wall power and produces 13.8 volts DC (4 amp constant / 6 amp surge). Will it damage my automobile electronics - CB radios, stereos, etc. if I use it to run them while indoors? I assume not, but I was expecting the power supply to say that it produced 12 volts DC, not 13.8.

Do any of you know?

P.S. I would ask on the Pffart4 board using an alias... but I'd like to get the right answer.
