...joe can step down, but can only release his delegates. He cannot pledge them to anyone. He can ask them to support whoever he wants but nothing more. Also his election funds cannot be redirected to any other person. They is stuck.

The question is whether he'll end his campaign and bow out of the election. I think he will. And I think the most likely replacement is Osama's wife Moochelle. If I was in Vegas, I'd also make a side bet on a Hillary / Moochelle ticket. Rumor is that Moochelle detests Hillary, but that hasn't stopped earlier candidates from teaming up. Reagan was forced into taking Bush as his running mate. Kennedy and Johnson weren't exactly pals either.
