Comparing that to the 2017 shooting in Las Vegas, I see that 473 were hit and 60 died. That's a 12.7% fatality rate - even worse! Of course, the Vegas shooter used a bump stock for some of that - which clearly means "spraying." Some of the Chicago shootings were probably at close range or actually aimed, improving the shooters' efficiency. And in Chicago, unlike Las Vegas, some of the living victims are surely going to die, giving the city's thugs a still higher kill rate.

BTW, the Vegas shooter fired "more than 1,000" rounds. We'll never know the actual number, but it's provides a sort of half-assed answer to your question. We won't get even that much about the number of shots fired in Chicago this weekend.

I well imagine there was a whole lot of "spraying" going on. It would be interesting to find out how many shots were actually taken to wound 83 and kill 17. I suspect there were hundreds and hundreds of spent casings.
