Texas Lt Governor Dan Patrick, who's been the acting Governor since Gregg Abbot left for Asia on an industry-sponsored junket promoting Texas investment opportunities, is now blaming Joe Biden for the slow response that Texas is having in getting the power back on. The Governor left before Beryl hit and isn't scheduled to return until this weekend. Patrick is now claiming that Biden wasted too much time trying to contact Abbot instead of him and that this delayed the state getting the help it needed from the feds despite the fact that FEMA had pre-positioned hundreds of people prior to the storm hitting the state.
I just talked to our son again and they're still without power as of 8:00am this morning, their time. It's been more than four days now without power. They're two daughters, one who lives in Houston and the other only a couple of miles away, have had their power restored, but his part of Katy is still dark.
