There are so many thousands (tens of thousands? hundreds of thousands) of digital currencies out there now, that I'd only take an interest if a new one was backed by someone huge, or provided a valuable service that others did not. I'm kicking myself to this day that I didn't do anything with bitcoin when I first learned of it. It was less than $10 at the time, and I spoke to a techie friend about mining it. We didn't know how and never followed up.

But he did, on his own, and mined 17 of them before it became too difficult. He's still got them... he doesn't know how to get them off of his hardware... lol. Oh, to have such problems. His 17 coins are worth a hair over one million dollars.

This guy and his wife are good friends and neighbors of mine. His house and coin manufacturing plant are right across the street from me. He and his wife have always dealt honestly with me.

De - this may be of interest to you. A brand new layer 1 crypto currency. As you know, I've been quite critical of crypto's ... but I have bought a small share of the mining operations of this new crypto. Surprised the heck out of my neighbor, cause he knew how extremely negative I was on crypto's - and we had discussed it a lot.


I am NOT making a recommendation to buy into this - just stating the facts and being upfront that I've bought into a small position, which I NEVER thought I would do.

And yes, what he states about his involvement in the first Bitcoin COIN and cold storage coins is absolutely true. Have seen the entire process myself. He used to mint gold and silver coins at the same plant, but has sold that off recently. He still does the cold storage coins - and they are pretty impressive, imo.
