A nice, one-hour storm. The sky to the west is blue and my valley is lit in sunlight. There's the rainbow I told my wife to expect! (It's a double.) Mist is rising out of the trees and thunder continues rolling past from the north and east.

It's kinda purdy - though zz wouldn't think so.

We're having a short but torrential storm right now with lots of blunder and a little frightening. If we were just five miles further west, it would be a fairly long but torrential thunderstorm. Weather.com's radar shows how most of the storm is skirting us. Still, my dawg is freaking out. We lost power briefly before the storm struck but it was a ten minute thing. So far. This storm isn't done and we could lose power again.

I think we've got a new hobby: Sitting on the newly screened-in front porch and watching the weather. We've got a few windows open so as to hear the thunder and feel the wind, but most are closed and keeping us FAIRLY dry. (Two seconds ago my screen got sprayed.)

It was 94° half an hour ago. I bet it's in the mid-seventies now. Anyway, I'm lovin' it. It's like monsoon weather. We had a 1.5 second lightning bolt a few seconds ago to my left and then a 2 second bolt that I saw perfectly and that probably hit near the church right below us.
