ribit - may be clear to you, but stone cold sober, it is a no go for me. Kid was laying down - no way the bullet impact could drive him 10-15 feet.

I am having trubble wrapping my head around 'bullet stats' and having them square with my understanding of physics - particularly the 'equal and opposite' laws of physics. Just me tonight, it's not quite clicking ....

from your link http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/lodge/300-win-mag-ballistics/

1000 ft-lb impact vs 30 ft-lb recoil ... hunh ???

. Even at 900 yards, the 300 Win Mag can pack the 1,000 ft lbs punch ... At 30 ft lbs, the 300 Win Mag’s recoil energy places it on the upper threshold of what shooters can tolerate ....

Not computing fur me - not doubting 'em, just not gittin it.

Appreciate the info - gotta chaw on it fer a few days.
