Charges filed against Illinois deputy who shot a Black woman who called about a possible intruder

Charges have been filed against Sean Grayson, a former Illinois sheriffâ€™s deputy, in the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey, an Illinois woman who had called authorities about a possible intruder earlier this month, officials said. Community members have called for answers and the release of body camera footage.

Grayson has been charged on three counts of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and official misconduct, according to attorney Ben Crump, who is representing Masseyâ€™s family.
