Some of the less expensive lots won today - some of which were great deals and some maybe not - include:
• Stanley Hand Tool Set With Spade Bits & Sockets, $32
• A Socket Set, $7
• Craftsman Cordless Auto-hammer, $16
• Craftsman Socket Wrench Set (not all pieces are shown in the photo), $11
• A Franklin Mint Pewter Train set, $67. Yeah, I know, but the wife wanted it. In fairness to her on this one, go Google "franklin mint pewter trains" and tell us what you find them selling for on Ebay (with the display case). I think you'll be surprised.

This may be the most I've spent on a single auction item since the Bob Hope hat or the sterling silverware set. But I've been looking for a good price on a used rototiller for at least three years and have begun to feel some urgency. Generic tillers of about this size (208 cc) run $750 at Home Depot. Good brands are $1,000 and up.

This tiller is a name brand and looks to be in good shape. But does it work? That's the gamble whenever you buy at auction.

The price tag still on the unit (photo #4) is a promising sign. The owners must have had a yard sale this summer and the rototiller failed to sell, so... it goes to me. $170 + 15%.
