Re: “So it will be a sad time...”
Isn't it funny how, as we age, our sense of "old" changes? Bodies wear out and something in our heads makes the years go faster and faster.

I feel for your friend's wife. If she stays in the house by herself, she's likely to die in the next year. She needs a distraction and something to make her feel that there's a reason to continue living. She might need some help with things. Being alone when you've always been a couple is brutal.

Maybe this woman's daughter will step up and try to help... but maybe not. Some kids are just stupid, or feel no sense of obligation with regard to their parents.

My long time neighbor and family friend passed a few days ago. They lived directly across the street from us and had a baby boy who was born with down's syndrome.

He was a sweet child and our girls and him played together a lot in our backyard and on the swing set and other things we had including a pool.

He was a veteran of Vietnam and was an air force pilot.

After that he went to work for IBM and had a great position in the company.

We are leaving soon to go to his viewing and say goodbye. His wife and us have remained good friends throughout the years. I am very sorry for her as now both her precious son and husband have now passed into glory.

So she is alone in a huge 2 story 5 bedroom colonial house. I don;t know if her daughetr and family will sell their home and move into this one with her or what. None of my business anyway but she is not a spring chicken either. She is about 80 years old.

So it will be a sad time...

I need to go get ready so will see y'all later...
