Never lived where that was available. My dad had to explain to me what a milk run was the first time I heard the expression. He grew up in 'upstate' New York and even worked summer(s) on a big local dairy farm. Tough work.

do ya remember having a "milk man" drive around in a small dairy delivery truck and bring the glass containers of milk to a "milk Box" made out of what appeared to be variant of a tin coated metal possibly galvanized as well.

It was weekly thing.. We got to know our milk deliverer as well as Mailman who walked the sidewalks delivering mail to our houses.. His name was Leroy and was the nicest person on this planet. He was a Korean War vet and so kind to us kids.

That was when everyone in a subdivision knew each other and interacted. Early 50's. I miss those days...
