And I just started to wonder if you wasn't confusing grits with 'hominy'. Because grits looks more like cream-of-wheat or some sort of porridge. Where-as hominy does look a bit like maggots.

Both hominy and grits are made from corn . . . But I find grits to be much more appealing as for as food goes.
