I agree with yer sentiment and Ribit's thoughtful assessment of the boy's situation.
I believe 15 is too young to drive and I also think 16 1/2 is better than just turning 16.
If we keep this lowering the age stuff up soon it will be down to 14 years old ...
MATURITY does a play a factor in responsibility and decision making. MY kids did not drive alone at 16.
They waited until 17 and dad was comfortable with their abilities. The oldest one promptly drove off in her mother's car and rear ended the person in front of her because she was following too close. There were about 5 cars who each hit the one in front of them.
She was last in line. Doghouse had to be replaced.
Glad nobody was hurt in Ribit's incident. Maybe the youngster learned a lesson he will remember and make him a more cautious and thoughtful driver in the future...
