To make a long story short, we disagree on many things, agree on others but come up with opposite conclusions, and we discuss them for ours, but today I got a glimpse of what he hopes….
He would not vote for Harris because she is just the lesser evil, the American policies evil, he thinks if Trump wins that will destroy America as we know it, revolution, and thus a break in America’s influence in the world and …change. What change? He thinks there will no longer be Mullahs in Iran as a result because they would not be …needed. What do you say to that?
It is mind boggling to think that these people are so misguided and their goal, to make the US irrelevant feeds their appetites.
He is against the US support for Ukraine, he said Putin wanted to be in the EU, etc…..
You can’t make heads or tails with what the ideology is. He calls Israel’s doings in Palestine a genocide, but hates the fact that we intervened in Bosnia to stop the Muslim genocide there by the Serbs, and claims it was Milosevic’s error to get there, because Tito would have kept Yugoslavia “together”. He totally ignored me telling him Tito’s was a communist regime that kept all those people from killing each other, something they’ve wanted to do for centuries. America stopped that the best way it could, against murderous, vicious, war criminal creeps.
In thinking about the conversation now, it feels like I was talking to a Trumper, who ignore things as they turn the tables to point at other things with whataboutism and total disregard of facts pointing in the opposite direction. I can lay out a whole lotta shit we discussed that blew my mind but I am exhausted to do so. It was like talking to a Trumper, an RFK, and far left supporter all in one at the same time.
My head is spinning.
Just an example of the world out there for isolated, isolationist Americans with the black and white arguments. Some of the world wants us to fail, and do not see or DO not care YET about what will happen with a China and Russia etc. in charge.
