Had shingles, way back, maybe in the '80s, right upper face, I'd seen my ophthalmologist thinking I had dust or something in my eye, he spotted the little blisters on my eyelid & forehead, sent me right over to the dermatologist who gave me an Rx for an anti-viral... No pain, but a droopy eyebrow, went back to work... Got the shot soon after, just in case, none yet, but I/we are due to get the double Shingrix shots soon, just been mulling over the cost as our insurance doesn't cover them. and it's near $300 each, so for the two of us, near $1200... Costco, others cut the cost a little, mostly just setting them up.. Due for a tetanus shot, too... And soon the latest flu & covid shots, poke, poke, poke....
My internal meds Doc at the time told of one of his patients, got Shingles, mid waist, I think, but nothing cut the pain except alcohol, ended up killing himself with the alcohol overload. Sad..
Chickenpox virus hides within us, come out in times of stress, altho when I had it, no more than the usual work, raising kids stresses.. Luck of the draw... Yes, get that shot set!
