The DNC propagandists at The Associated Press are doing their best to mislead mental defectives, like zzshart ... but, then again, it doesn't take much to bamboozle a moron like zzshart.
Here's the post they put up last night, which they deleted:
As many users pointed out, that's not what Vance said.
Zaid Jilani (@ZaidJilani) ~ The full quote: "I don’t like that this is a fact of life. But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools."
It was intentionally misleading.
And Vance isn't wrong.
After getting ratioed into oblivion and having several pending Community Notes, the AP deleted that post and issued a correction:
The Associated Press (@AP) ~ JD Vance says he laments that school shootings are a "fact of life" and says the U.S. needs to harden security to prevent more carnage like the shooting this week that left four dead in Georgia.

Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) ~ But, the point of it is to mislead millions of people. It’s not a mistake; it’s doing what it was intended to do.
As demonstrated by the response of the Kamala Harris campaign:
Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) ~ AP put out a false headline, deletes the post, but this was the entire point. Incredible.
"We have to get over it." That quote is a pathetic lie - Vance never said it.
Just incredible.
