So, a little context so we can understand why the “American people” at large do not understand what exactly they are asking for WHICH CANNOT BE!
One of my first cousins said, If I remember well, that there should be a “basic income” provided to people by the government, so they can live at a basic level. To which I responded “ where is the money for that coming from”? How does the government get that money to give it to you? He said “they print money”. I said for “how long before bread costs €1000”? He looked at me as it was the first time ever he heard that. Anyway, you get the idea about wishing for your wet dreams.
Which brings us to those who think Trump is “better for the economy”. The question I have for them on the issue of prices that are higher since after Covid is this: How do they think Trump will affect those prices with his tariffs on goods they buy at Walmart, cars, electronics, etc? So much he says he’ll do for YOU falls in the giveaways category, with a terrible eventual hidden cost: A deficit that will dwarf todays number, and a society in civil disarray.
Not gonna answer that. You all know the answer.
From , mandates for IVF, paying for child are via …tarriffs, in a few words dolling out money he doesn’t have, and a hodgepodge of socialist, yes socialist, promises, it seems to me that those who go for that crap are thinking just as my ….cousin. They want to be given stuff, something that is neither republican nor reasonable.
In a few words, it’s not the “economy”, but wishful thinking on the back of socialism. Trump sounds like the socialists who brought Greece down to its knees in 2009. Unfortunately, people do not learn when it comes to free stuff they want. Short sighted stupidity.
Inflation at 2.9% is EXACTLY where it was right before Covid. The economy growing at higher numbers than Trump’s. Your 401Ks through the roof. Yes, prices are higher, they ain’t going lower anytime soon, or ever, they will stabilize, maybe some will go lower, perhaps gas if the war in Ukraine ends, although it’s already under or at $3 bucks in many places, as we produce more energy than ever, more than Trump, and more than any nation, and our economy is way ahead of anyone else’s.
Besides, look at all the money the complainers are spending on …vacations, etc. Restaurants are full and buzzing, how do you expect them to cut prices when people just pay and don’t stay away? Dover sole at Pastis, in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, was $85 the other day. Gimme a fing break, but people PAY FOR IT!
So, I say to my “American cousins” GET A BRAIN. Think about what YOU can do for yourselves including think hard about what you want and vote for, because it’s always a boomerang.
