I think it’s become too much. Most national parks are now “enter at your own risk” territories. It’s ridiculous. We don’t need large predators in such huge numbers. We need to kill enough to keep populations well down for diversity reasons. Every time I hear “bears won’t bother you if you don’t”, there’s another unprovoked attack by a bear killing and/or maiming a human.
I was reading about reintroduction of grey wolves, I think in northern Greece, except these kill for killing, very aggressive, etc.
We need to get more tree huggers attacked and consumed by their protectees so we can get some sense out of them. We don’t need the West crawling with bears!
When I was in Montana I never went on a trail where there were no other cars parked at the trailhead and did not see or hear humans around. The wooded trails were so peaceful, quiet, and so fking scary to go into.
