Decomposed > Was this really a bipartisan bill, or was it something Reagan wanted and Democrats were happy to provide?

My original thought was that it was something the demo-rats had 'welded' onto a Reagan 'Must Pass' Bill . . . then I looked it up.

I still think it is something the drug companies dreamed up to decrease their liability for defective vaccines.

I also suspect that this might be a law that needs to be repealed. Or at least modified so that the vaccine makers CAN be held liable.

By the way, at least twice now on the TV I've seen a commercial acting as if everybody should get both a covid vaccine and a flu vaccine . . . Bad idea to me.

Re: “Presidents do NOT 'pass laws'. Congress passes laws and the President signs them.”
Google says "The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 (H.R. 5546) was passed by the House on October 14, 1986, but was never passed by the Senate."

So that isn't the one Reagan signed.

*** UPDATE *** My mistake. The Senate passed it "after being amended."

I'm trying to find what the votes were in Congress. Was this really a bipartisan bill, or was it something Reagan wanted and Democrats were happy to provide? Unfortunately, it looks like Congress.gov only makes vote records available on-line from 1989 onward.
