As I have posted many, many times, already ... government is a necessary evil - EMPHASIS on the word "EVIL." Our federal government doesn't need but about 20% of what it takes in, now, because it needs to provide military protection for our nation, protect our borders, deal with foreign governments, oversee our judicial system, maintain our national currency, and settle any disputes among the states. Otherwise, it should be a fly on the wall.

Re: “What about the people working TWO full time jobs to make ends meet (for example) ?”If Trump's goal is to help people, then you're right. But if his goal is to help people AND stimulate the economy, then you aren't. Removing the tax on OT will encourage the nation's best and brightest blue collar workers to work longer hours.

Your suggestion, removing the tax on income from second jobs, won't have the same effect. After all, that would mostly impact the nation's least skilled and most poorly paid employees.

But you know what? I'd be in favor of eliminating those taxes too. I actually favor the elimination of ALL income taxes. Income, after all, is a trade between the employer and the employee of one asset for another of equal value. There is no gain. The employer gives up his precious money. The employee gives up his precious time. Why should government get a piece of it?

It's quite different with corporate income, where a company buys an asset, does something with it and sells it for more than it paid. There's a real gain there, derived from being able to do business in our country. Tax it.

I say, end the scam of income tax and tell government to get its money some other way. Or do away with most of the government since most government services are too expensive for the dubious value they bring.
