Georgia cornerback Daniel Harris is the latest Bulldog football player to get arrested while behind the wheel.
The sophomore defensive back was arrested and charged with reckless driving after allegedly going 106 miles per hour — 41 over the speed limit — on a wet road on Thursday night, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police Department incident report viewed by The Post.
Harris was hit with five misdemeanor driving-related charges.
Harris was booked into the Clarke County Jail at approximately 10:40 p.m. and let go at 11:49 p.m. on a $50 bond.
According to multiple reports, Harris was speeding at around 8 p.m. on Georgia State’s Route 10 at the College Station Road entrance ramp while riding a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Additionally, the registration for Harris’ vehicle expired on March 8 and he had a temporary tag that expired on August 4 — both well before the incident.
Harris had no insurance and was also charged with driving without a seatbelt.
This comes shortly after running back Trevor Etienne was arrested for a DUI this off-season and sat out the team’s season opener.
The Athens Banner-Herald reported earlier this year that there were over two dozen arrests or citations for speeding, racing or reckless driving related to the program since a deadly crash in January 2023 that killed offensive lineman Devin Willock and staffer Chandler LeCroy.
Head coach Kirby Smart addressed the spate of arrests in July.
“The incidents that we’ve had off the field are not something that we condone,” Smart said at SEC media days. “It’s very unfortunate, disappointing I guess is the best word. I always talk about process and outcomes. I talked about that with wins and losses that we try not to base things on the outcomes with wins and losses. In this situation, the outcomes are very disappointing.”
Sounds like ol' Kirby needs to hire chauffeurs for yer Dawgs ...
