Not with impunity. Sanctions should be imposed against aggressor nations. Nations should be encouraged to form alliances with others in order to defend themselves. That's what most of Europe and the U.S. has done. But Ukraine didn't do that.

I can live with Ukraine being the victim of a painful lesson. Other countries that don't want to build a strong military should consider buying protective services from those that do. If it's our services they want, the price should be high.

But the stupidity we're engaged in right now - where we're funding (and perhaps more) the defense of a country that's not even our friend - has got to end. We can't afford it.

That is true, De.
But, do we want to live in a world where 'bigger countries' can 'eat' smaller countries with impunity . . .

Or do we want to live in a world with 'Rule of Law' where small countries have just as many 'rights' as the bigger ones do?
