it is more of a cult that any semblence of a Christian Church. The things that they adhere to and what there founders claim makes ya wonder what were they hallucinating on.
What they believe or claim to believe including bigotry is all anti-Biblical. Their founder has tried to replace the Biblical scriptures with some fanatical stories and Polygamy is their accepted way. Women are basically chattel property in their cult.
When one of them tries to escape they hunt them down.
Its an evil cult and like every cult, many ignorant people do not do any research or diligence on what it teaches nor its inner workings.
I know someone who successfully escaped its clutches and the stories she told would make yer hair curl.
So yer relative is likely to get a thorough brainwashing because he does not really know what goes on in that cult.
