One question.

in THE BIBLE, how many wives is a man supposed to have in the New Testament? (That is what we live under since Christ.)

How many wives can a man be "married" to in Mormonism?

For instance, there's this one: "A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader." With regard to LDS being "generally considered to be extremist or false" - That's clearly a subjective call made by a majority against a minority. I don't think that's a good reason for disparaging a religion. Hindus could, I am certain, make the same claim about Christians - and just as legitimately. In short, what does it matter what non-members think of a religion? Every religion, after all, makes fantastic claims that require the total abandonment of logic, verifiability and known physical law.

Modern Mormons don't live any more unconventionally than most Americans - except that they have more children and stay closer to their families. I respect that. The LDS church formally banned polygamy 134 years ago and shouldn't be judged by what a few crackpot members still believe.

Modern Mormons don't have an authoritarian, charismatic leader. They're led by a committee called the First Presidency.

A different definition says cults are small. There are more than 15 million Mormons. LDS isn't small.

So why is it a cult? Is Hinduism a cult? Catholicism? Islam? Buddhism?Quakerism? Is every religion that's not yours a cult?
