First, it DOES have worse results than placebo. It does extraordinary harm to the kidneys.

Second, it may have only been given to patients on ventilators. What we know now and didn't know then is that ventilators helped no one and killed a LOT of people. Those who died would have done far better if they had simply been turned onto their stomachs and told to sleep that way.

I don't think you can read anything into Remdesivir's 53% mortality rate. If they were giving it to patients who were about to die, then it was a miracle drug that saved half of them. If they were giving it to toddlers who weren't going to die, then it was an utter disaster.

The truth about Remdesivir is that it was ineffective. Gilead made billions by getting governments around the world to promote something that didn't work, and by preventing people from taking inexpensive, safe drugs like Hydroxychloroquine + zinc (which might have worked) and Ivermectin + zinc (which did work) - IF they were given to patients early.
