Re: “I'm happy to send it to you.. No problem.”
The news that the author is a pastor is actually a negative. I don't put pastors on a pedestal when it comes to trusting them. I still remember Jimmy Swaggart after all - and all those Catholic priests.

Additionally, my reaction to his being a pastor is: Isn't that convenient? A pastor parent who knows EXACTLY what heaven is supposed to be like has a 4-year-old son give him the same description.

Children are little tape recorders at that age, taking in what they hear from their parents and spitting it back later, often word for word. I'd be more impressed by far if little Colton had given his father a dramatically DIFFERENT description than the one the father expected. After all, Heaven is surely a multi-faceted place. Why does Colton's description mirror the Bible's?

The Amazon link says:

"Colton told his parents he left his body during an emergency surgery–and proved that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital during his operation."

In other words, Colton told the author something Colton couldn't possibly have known. But do you know who could have known it? The author. That's not very persuasive to someone who is already wondering if the pastor / father / author is exaggerating (to put it politely) things just a tad. It would have been more impressive if Colton had told his father what the doctor did immediately after leaving the operating room. Or what the admissions staff had done during his surgery. Or... any number of things that neither Colton nor Todd Burpo could have known.

Your offer to send me the book is very kind, so thank you. I'm not going to take you up on it - because at this point I've lost interest. On to some other subject! Perhaps Ray Kurzweil's new book. Or I may pick up one of the many SF books lying around and read something light for a change.

De

The author is Todd Burpo, a PASTOR who had actual reality of his faith appear thru the near death of his 3 year old son. It strengthened His faith when his young son later after he was well made some astounding statements to his parents that he could not possibly have known as well as a little girl who similarly had this same experience halfway around the world and an artist drew what she described as whom she saw, and the little boy described the identical same person.

ALL you want is the paperback of Heaven is for Real.

That is all.. Noting more or less.

I can send you the book as well. Then it costs you nothing... It will amaze you...

I'm happy to send it to you.. No problem.

Let me know.

I am leaving on a trip at Noon eastern .

Got plenty of time to put it in a jiffy bag and drop it at the post office.
