The biggest issue I had with JD Vance was that if someone had just awakened from a four-year coma and they had listened to Vance during the debate tonight, they'd come away thinking that Kamala Harris had been President for the last 3 1/2 years. I don't think Vance mentioned Biden's name once during the entire debate. In fact, on more than one occasion, he explicitly referred to the 'Kamala Harris administration'.
On one of the networks they'd had a 'viewing party' at a community college in Michigan and one of the students that they interviewed after the debate commented about this very thing, that Vance seemed to think that everything that's happened, or not, over the last 3 1/2 years, was the responsibility of Kamala Harris. This student suggested that Vance needed to take a refresher class in Civics where he'd learn the extent of the power, or lack there of, of a Vice-President.
Now I'll admit that Vance sounded a lot more sane than Trump (a relatively low bar to jump over) but he still avoided answering most questions and when he did answer, he got it wrong, like claiming that he has NEVER wished for a nationwide ban on abortion (they have tape of him saying it). And the biggest question he never answered, "Who do you think won the 2020 election?"
